Plein Air Oil Painting Lessons

All materials, paints, canvas etc are included, I keep two extra French easels. You just need to bring your own refreshments, suitable clothing, and of-course yourself.

I generally paint over a three hour session. We all paint at different speeds, however in this time a painting could either be finished, or at least have a very good foundation down.

No experience is required,, I welcome all levels of abilities. We are all improving.

I do not teach art following any syllabus.  I simply teach very much along the way I was taught many years ago.

This is purely an oil painting experience I do not work plein air with water based paints. Please bear in mind oil paint, turpentine, alkyd, and liquin are all chemicals. I can provide latex gloves if preferred. Please keep in mind once, you get oil on clothing, its there for good. A lesson I’ve learned the hard way!

En-plein air painting is not for the faint hearted. I paint at day, at night, in the sun and the rain. Strong winds are my only obstacle preventing a session going ahead.

A three Hour Session will cost £165, and includes all materials and use of equipment. For teaching two persons for this time the costs are £180.  Payment is required prior to the session, and can be paid via this website.
